WEIGHT LOSS RETREAT (22D/22N $1232)

Course Overview

In these modern times there are increasing numbers of individuals who suffer from obesity. Because of a sedentary lifestyle and fast food trends, people are unwittingly putting unnecessary weight on. Sadhana Yoga retreat offers this weight loss retreat program specially targeted for obese people to lose weight scientifically and systematically with the help of Yoga, meditation, fasting, gastro cleansing, and special diet.

Three weeks can be classified into three segment. In the first week you participate in the regular activities together with other participants. In the second week you fast for three days, then participate in gastro intestinal cleansing (see fasting and cleansing routine below). On the cleansing day you will follow a special diet- broth of lentil soup, regular lentil soup, and then Khichadi (yogic food). In the third week you join the regular class but will practice intense physical exercises to burn fat. Self-discipline will also be practiced.

During the whole stay the participant will be provided with foods that contain high amounts of water in them. You will enjoy watermelon, cucumber, broth of lentil soup, lentil soup etc.

The main strategy to reduce body weight is through physical movement, pranayama, diet, dynamic movement, and gastro-intestinal cleansing.

Course includes

Whole body massage, yoga teaching, accommodation, dinner on the night of your arrival, clean water, breakfast, tea, lunch, snacks and dinner each day (except for those days when you will be Fasting), breakfast prior to your departure

As it is Weight Loss Program for 21 days, we have divided it into weekly programs over the course of three weeks.

First week of seven days

During this first week you will be participating in regular Yoga and Meditation classes in preparation for week two.

Second week of seven days

During week two you will go through the following Cleansing and Fasting Diet

Fasting Schedule

First day of fasting
Breakfast – 2 apples, honey lemon water and juice
Lunch – 2 apples, honey lemon water and juice
Dinner – 2 apples, honey lemon water and juice

Second day of fasting

Breakfast – 1 apple, honey lemon water and juice
Lunch – 1 apple, honey lemon water and juice
Dinner – 1 apple, honey lemon water and juice

Third day of fasting

Breakfast – honey lemon water and juice
Lunch – honey lemon water and juice
Dinner – honey lemon water and juice

4th Day: Gastro-intestinal flushing


5th Day: Back to normal diet and yoga practice

6th Day: Back to normal diet and yoga practice

7th Day: Back to normal diet and yoga practice


Note:

On the Fasting days participant can join in with the Yoga, Meditation and any other activities as far as their energy allows, but on the 3rd day of Fasting you shouldn't force much for the physical activities.

Third week of seven days

Since this program is designed to lose body weight in maximum level, we stop feeding carbohydrate these seven days. Once carbohydrate is not taken body begins burning stored resources. This will accelerate losing the body weight. Continuation of yoga, pranayama, meditation, walking and eating vegetables, broth, lentil soup, cucumber, and watermelon is the scientific way of reducing body weight and gaining lightness of the body.

Food

Movement of the body (dynamic & static)

One of the main causes of gaining more weight on the body is lack of physical movement. Modern sedentary life style does not permit us to move the body sufficiently. Movements of the body burn lots of calories, so that they do not turn into fat later.

At Sadhana Yoga we teach and motivate every participant to move body through the yogic and scientific way which balances and reduces the body weight.

Dynamic movements of different limbs of the body is a unique way to strengthen, to lose, and to build up flexibility of the body. Sadhana Yoga teaches several sequential movements(flows) of yogic postures which will be plus point to lose body weight in a short duration.

All the dynamic movements are good for heart, respiratory system, nervous system. Body begins to detox in the form of sweating so skin glows afterward.

All the dynamic sequential movement will be taught to obese people so they can continue at home as a part of their daily activities. This will not be difficult because 21 days at Sadhana Yoga and practicing every single day will build brain cells already and will form habit. Twenty one day retreat will be greatly rewarding to obese people.


Pranayama (breathing exercises)

It has been proven that breathing deeply in and out can cure and prevent many mental and physical disorders. Pranayama is one of the important chapters in Yoga which deals with how to breathe correctly using abdominal and diaphragm muscles.

Cleansing breathing like ‘Kapalbhati’ (skull shining breathing) and ‘Bhastrika’ pranayama (bellows breathing) are specially designed to burn out unnecessary calories. These breathing practices include rapid flapping of the belly which flattens and strengthens the belly muscles. Twenty minutes of these breathing practices are equal to an hour of jogging. So, practicing these programs is the best and most effective way of losing weight.


Enrollment

To attend this course you can join in on any day of the week after 3 pm or early. You will start your first day upon arrival by following chanting, evening yoga session, dinner and candle light meditation.
