Course Overview

At Sadhana the food is not only delicious but nutritious and healthy too. All meals are prepared by Durga and cook Suji, include ingredients such as brown rice, fresh organic vegetables, lentil soup, greens, fresh salad, pickle, fried potato, chapati, bean soup, pancakes, fresh fruits like banana, apples, orange, mango, pears, papaya etc, muesli with curd or milk, semolina porridge, eggs, pasta, chowmin, beaten rice and bean curry etc. Chai tea (masala tea) with biscuits.
At the request of our students, Sadhana Yoga is offering a one day cookery course in which our students, or any travelers, can learn Nepalese dishes based on the principles of Ayurveda. These dishes are taught in a simple and healthy way. By the end of the course, you will easily be able to prepare a meal yourself.


Course includes

Arrival day

Chanting, evening yoga (one hour and half), dinner and candle light meditation


Second day

You will learn and prepare following dishes throughout the day.You will also get a whole body massage for free.


Third day  

You will leave the centre after breakfast in the morning. 


These are different dishes you will learn at Sadhana Yoga

  • Dal Bhat Set: It is our National and very common dish, in which one learns to make lentil soup, vegetable curry, rice and pickle.
  • Chapati
  • Masala tea
  • Bean soup
  • Many different kind of pickles
  • Potato salad
  • Momo, etc.

We teach more than these listed dishes, it depends on  your interest and time. Mrs. Durga, founder's wife is in charge of this program and she is more than happy to share her knowledge on Nepali cuisine.
